'ISOLATION IS THE DREAM KILLER' - Barbara Sher
When you choose to work with a book coach, you create a dedicated space and time to develop your ideas, your business and your book.
Why do many people who want to write a book never begin?
Why do many who begin, then struggle to actually publish?
Self-doubt, loss of focus, and overwhelm can get in the way.
Coaching as you plan & write
a short-read, long-impact book*
is the solution.
*A short-read, long-impact book is a useful 20,000 to 40,000-word book, focussing on a particular reader who needs particular assistance, and offering solutions that busy people can absorb and implement soon after.
Why short beats long every time
♦ Your readers are switched-on people who don't have time for lengthy theoretical discussions.
♦ They are looking for practical solutions to a particular problem that you understand, so they can absorb the information quickly and put it into action right away.
♦ A short, focused book respects their time while delivering maximum value—thus creating the lasting impact and loyal following that grows your business.
Here's how short-read, long-impact books work for authors & readers:
Instead of a family counsellor writing ‘Your Guide to Parenting’ - a massive topic, right? - they could write several shorter books that pack a punch and focus on easily-identified needs, so establishing their expertise in their preferred niches, e.g.:
⇒ 'Tantrum Toolkit: Navigating Big Emotions in Little Bodies’
⇒ ‘Teens Decoded: Understanding the Adolescent Brain’
⇒ ‘Parenting Grown-Ups: Always Your Child, Never Your Responsibility’
As your book coach, I will support you as you
CLARIFY + PLAN + WRITE + PUBLISH
the book that takes your business where you want to go.
I will give you structure & guide you through any or all of the steps below.

This FOCUSSED 10-WEEK COACHING PROGRAM is designed to excite your potential; bring you clarity about your business vision and the role of your book/s in that; and build the initial content framework.
Sometimes we need the right questions to find the right answers - and another perspective to help us see the light ahead.
IN THIS PROGRAM YOU WILL:
> Identify your book and business goals
You will clarify what you want your business to look like & what your book can do for you; and begin your book business plan.
> Define your ideal reader
Stop writing for everyone and start writing for someone. You'll create a detailed profile of your perfect reader—the person you want to reach and assist, and attract as a potential client and/or advocate.
> Craft your core message
Your unique perspective is your competitive advantage. You'll distill your experience into a memorable message that resonates deeply and spreads naturally.
> Plot your readers' journey through the book
Decide on the change you want to offer to your readers through your pages
> Choose a possible book structure
You'll select a possible framework that suits how you work best, and excites you because it's a glimpse of how you can keep readers engaged from cover to cover.
> Survey your ideal readers
Check your ideas and gain more insight before writing.
INCLUDES a lengthy, in-depth workbook; six coaching calls; the book structure that will work for you and your message; book outline; coaching review & feedback on your material; a survey of potential readers; and other resources
THREE monthly payments of $600 (Total: AUD$1800)

This 8-Week WRITING KICKSTART follows on from Step 1, and is designed to move you from your book framework (see above) to the full book blueprint and several key chapters.
INCLUDED:
> Plan your actionable chapters in detail
Your framework becomes a fully-fledged content plan, ensuring each chapter delivers real value for your specific readers by providing what they are seeking (and what you know they need), while building toward lasting change.
> Add implementation tools to assist your reader
Your book becomes even more valuable when readers can easily apply what they learn through worksheets, templates, and action guides that turn insights into results.
> Early marketing considerations
Identify what makes your approach different from other books in your space, and draft foundational marketing hooks, like cover blurb, angles, stories, and takeaways that will generate interest.
> Write two to three key chapter drafts
Find your writing voice and ensure your promise to the reader is obvious in these key chapters. This sets you up to write on with confidence, knowing your own intentions and keeping your readers' perspective top of mind.
INCLUDES 4 coaching calls, page reviews & feedback.
AUD $950 (or two monthly payments of $475)
After you have planned your book & commenced writing, you can continue working with Bev or another of our writing coaches as you further develop your content and build your chapters.

Your book plan is thoroughly prepared, and you're ready to dedicate time and discipline to get this book done.
> Write with clarity and purpose
No more writer's block or endless revisions. With your clear book blueprint in place, you'll write with more confidence, knowing who it's for, and why.
> Ensure reader engagement and impact
To keep readers turning pages and taking action, you'll add compelling stories, practical examples, and clear next steps that create traction.
> Accountability to external deadlines
Stay on track with structured milestones and our regular check-ins. You'll have the support and gentle pressure needed to cross the finish line.
> Feedback as you progress
Get expert guidance when you need it most. You receive regular feedback on your pages from your coach as you write, ensuring your book stays focused, engaging, and aligned with your goals.
> Deal with the doubts and keep going
Inevitably, you will question your own ideas as you write, and wonder why you should bother to continue. Your coach will give you the belief you need, and help you though the doubt or discouragement.
FEE STRUCTURE: There is some flexibility in the way we can work together to get the job done, because we all work differently. I will structure the fee to suit, according to the number of times you meet with your coach each month, and the number of pages/words you aim to submit before each meeting. (The fee is based on your commitment, so you are motivated to honour it.)
After you have written your book, you can work with our book production team - or engage another team or individuals to bring your book to life.

> Professional editing and refinement
Polish your manuscript to professional standards. Your ideas deserve presentation that matches their quality—clear, compelling, and error-free.
> Design a compelling cover and layout
First impressions matter. Your book will look as professional as it sounds, with design that attracts your ideal readers and reflects your style and brand.
> Publish and launch effectively
Navigate the publishing process with confidence. From ISBN to distribution, we'll handle the technical details so you can focus on what matters most—connecting with readers.
> Order print copies & sell online
Hold your finished book in your hands and share it with key contacts, clients, and prospects. There's nothing quite like the impact of a physical book with your name on the cover.
FEE STRUCTURE: Every book production project is quoted individually.

'When I was about to embark on the journey of writing my first book I knew I needed some major help. Bev provided a very clear book planning framework which I used to first shape the contents of my book, and later to ensure that this content was relevant, practical and on point. I then published 'The Teaching Game' after signing with the publishing company Amba Press, who were very impressed with my book blueprint and snapped it up only nine months after initially working with Bev. I have since published my second book, 'The Leadership Game', with Amba Press after using the same blueprint and Bev's assistance before I began writing.'
VIDEO: Jennie Nash (left – founder of Author Accelerator) and I (Bev Ryan, non-fiction book coach with a heavy cold), discuss how short books can work for your business. (3 mins.)
They remove the roadblocks to publishing, giving you everything you need: business clarity and a book that is focused, finished, and profitable.
I created this program because I've watched too many brilliant women struggle with massive book projects that take years to complete, and still fail to serve their business goals.
