The Book Success Group

for authors-in-progress,

inspired but tired of struggling alone

Accountability. Coaching. Clarity. Community.

This is for YOU if:

♥ You are writing a non-fiction book

♥ You are procrastinating or stuck—either recently or for a while now.

♥ Your PRIORITY is to get over the hump, and get that FIRST DRAFT DONE!

♥ You know now that ISOLATION can be a DREAM KILLER.

♥ You know EXPERT GUIDANCE & ACCOUNTABILITY will make a huge difference to your CONFIDENCE & RESULTS.

Why a SUCCESS GROUP?

  • You have been working on your book idea for a while, but you are not actually moving your writing along on your own.
  • You want individualised guidance, structure and coaching from an experienced book coach who brings writing & publishing expertise, but your budget cannot quite stretch to personal coaching.
  • You are ready to commit to finishing your book, knowing the rewards await on the other side.
  • The idea of social accountability and just enough pressure to get the work done appeals to you.
  • You respond well to showing up online regularly and taking manageable steps each week.
  • Positive support from a small group of like-minded people with similar goals really appeals to you, after working on your book in isolation and making little progress.
  • You are happy to be in the spotlight for a part of each session to share your progress and problems, and receive guidance.
  • You are happy to share the spotlight, and you are good at encouraging others without over-stepping the mark.
  • You definitely learn through supporting others, as well as from coaching feedback on your own work.

The Book Success Group Promise

R

You will progress your manuscript (and could even finish your first draft) if you truly show up for the online group sessions and do the work that only you can do in between.

R

You will commence the program with a mini-blueprint exercise to review your book idea and the work you have done so far. This exercise is incredibly valuable, whether you are in the early or late stages of writing.

R

You will receive individual coaching each fortnight from an experienced book coach, and have access to proven processes, materials and resources, at an affordable monthly cost. (Email access and quick calls with Bev each month also included.)

R

The four-month commitment is long enough to make a real difference to your book, and short enough that you know you cannot procrastinate any longer if you want to make it happen.

R

You will also learn from witnessing coaching & feedback others in the group receive from Bev, and group reviews of written pages and/or ideas (if requested).

R

If you need further individual support, in-depth coaching and/or writing review during or after the group program, that is available at an individual rate.

The Details

R

This is an online ACTION group (like a power group) WITH professional coaching, with a maximum of FOUR members. (It is NOT a peer-lead writing group.)

R

The MINI-BLUEPRINT process on commencement will bring you clarity and maybe some adjustments to original plans – and your coach will learn the essentials of your book. It will form the basis of the first group coaching session together.

R

Runs for FOUR months – a good time to get things done! There is a finish date to motivate you – an external DEADLINE!

R

Meets on Zoom the first and third Wednesday mornings of each month, from 10am to noon.

R

Commences Wednesday 22 February 2023

R

Email access and one focussed 10-minute problem-solver call with Bev available between sessions

R

Cost: $380/month for four months

What does each session look like?

Structure of the 2-hour sessions (with a maximum of 4 members)

  1. Opening: Highlight progress since last session (5 minutes each)
  2. During: Individual coaching spotlights – addressing questions, problems, feedback etc. (20 minutes each)
  3. Closing: State intentions for the next 2 weeks (5 minutes each)

NOTE: If you would like big-picture feedback on your own written sections from your book coach, Bev Ryan, from time to time (and from the group), you can submit a selection of pages between sessions, for discussion in your spot at the next session. Be assured that Bev will provide everyone with some simple questions to use when responding to your writing, if requested, so you only receive feedback that is useful.

“I needed help to actually get my book done, as I have been thinking about it and playing on the edges for a long time. When Bev offered me a place in her Book Success Group beginning in September 2022, I knew it was just what I needed. We met fortnightly which gave me deadlines and the accountability I needed, and coaching which helped me firm up my book structure and get writing.

Now, just 5 months later, I am almost finished my manuscript, and Bev is tidying up sections as I go, so editing will not be too arduous. Bev has also organised my book cover design and a new website, in preparation for my book release in late April ’23, while I travel around Australia with my partner. When I return I will be establishing a new coaching business after 20+ years running my own successful RE business, and my book will be an important part of that.”

About Bev: Book Coach & Facilitator

Welcome! I am an Author Accelerator certified non-fiction book coach and an experienced book production manager—my wonderful clients and their books speak for themselves.

I have facilitated book coaching groups since 2012, and have previously run career success groups as a career coach, based on the writings of Barbara Sher. Her words impacted me greatly when I was struggling with my early publishing goals – my first print magazine in 1997:

‘Isolation is the dream killer’

As a result of those words, I set up my own success group, which supported me (while I supported them too) as I secured a distribution contract into newsagencies across Australia — and got the first issue of my magazine, ‘Work From Home’, DONE and DELIVERED.

I know I would never have achieved it without the accountability to, and support from, that special group. And that major achievement set me on a whole new and exciting life path.

DON’T let your publishing dreams slip away like I almost did.

Today I love helping accomplished women prioritise themselves, confidently clarify and articulate their message and their value, and create their own quality books, which then go on to influence and attract others.

“I enrolled in Bev’s program because I wanted to move on with my book. When I go back and look at what I had already written, and compare it to the structure Bev provided, I get a lot more insight into where I might have fluffed too much or gone off on a tangent on my own.”

—Nikki Creber, Parkinson’s Lifestyle Coach & Advocate

“I enrolled because I was just about to revisit the manuscript of an incomplete memoir that had been in the bottom drawer of my desk for a couple of decades. The main thing I got was a clear understanding of what memoir is, and how I had become bogged down with structural issues in my earlier attempt. Bev is a relaxed and knowledgeable facilitator.”

—Wenda Matthews, Educator and Community Development Worker (Arts and Health). Now life-long student & writer.

“Everyone has got a book in them! I highly recommend Bev’s Book Success Program, as it helped me to quickly launch my first book, which lead to dramatic changes in my business, including working internationally. It also brought about my own awakening to my true potential, and I have since taken quantum leaps to create a life I truly love.”

— Karen BrookHigh Performance Mindset Coach, Regional Director (Aust, NZ, Singapore) at Proctor Gallagher Institute

“I was delighted to participate in one of Bev’s early Book Success programs. It was valuable on so many levels and suitable for those at the beginning of their writer’s journey as well as those who were further along the path.”
